Google launching speech recognition app for iPhone

Written by Yashpal on November 15th, 2008 in News.

Voice recognition functionality is no new thing for phone users, but if it’s about browsing Google on your iPhone through voice commands then it’s certainly a groundbreaking technology. Yes! The tempting application is coming from Google as a free application for only iPhone users - the bad part of the story. The handsfree application allows iPhone users to name a destination or a question and the screen will display an answer in few seconds. What the app does is record your voice, upload it to a Google server via data communication, process it, and then appear with certain results. As yet, the results delivered by the app aren’t quite reliable though, but soon, Google will hone its searching skills.
